Does it perform this function
without question
without challenge?
Is it the best option
for solving the problem
of how to hold soap?

It does hold soap,
true, but also
my hand can hold soap,
I have recently discovered.

My soap-dish hand and
your soap-dish hand together
make something that is not
a soap-dish,
because no-one can
extract the soap from
our joined
soap-dish hands,
though they have been trying
for the last year.

(I have been writing a lot of what could probably be called ‘love poems’ in the last couple of weeks. This is a new experience for me but I am powering through it until the ideas disappear.)
